Funeral Directors in the West Midlands
Brain & Waldron Ltd was founded in April 1987 by Chris Waldron. Born in 1957, Chris became a fifth generation funeral director when he joined the then family funeral firm of Roberts & Brain in Bearwood at the age of twenty. He quickly gained an in depth knowledge of the area with its different denominational churches, religious and cultural practices so essential for a good funeral director.
Chris gained his Diploma in Funeral Directing in 1980 after taking the National Association of Funeral directors exam. Sadly, in 1983, due to a family decision, Roberts & Brain was sold to one of the large National funeral companies and after a further change of ownership in 1986, Chris was made redundant
Undeterred, he formed his own company, ‘Brain & Waldron Ltd’ in April 1987 at its present site in Cemetery Rd Smethwick. Achieving success through providing a high level of service at a reasonable cost and of course a good knowledge of the local community which the company serves.
